Sunday 29th January 2023 – The Beatitudes Read: Matthew 5:1-12
Today’s reading is from the Sermon on the Mount – this is where Jesus spent some time giving a sermon or a talk on a mountain – that’s where the name comes from. To start the sermon Jesus talks about the beatitudes which are a set of promises that Jesus gives to his followers, and to us. These include comfort when we are sad, mercy when we show mercy to others, and being able to see God when we help others. We can remember these promises today as well.

Pray: Dear God, thank you for your promises – help us to remember them. Amen
Father in heaven watch over our loved ones.
Keep them by your side.
May they be safe and peaceful, in you may they abide.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses too we pray,
renew their strength and bless them for the work they do each day. Send healing and restoration and let them feel your love.
May your Holy Spirit give them rest as gentle as a dove. Amen (Taken from Praying Together)
Share: Make a bookmark of the promise you would like to be reminded of.
