Read: Luke 17:11-19

As Jesus was travelling along 10 men from a village met him – the 10 men had leprosy so had to keep their distance. At the time of Jesus, they would have been thought to have been unclean. They started shouting to Jesus and asked him to have mercy on them. Jesus saw them and told them to go and show themselves to the priest. They had to show themselves to the priest to be declared clean and to be able to join in with the community again. As they went, they were all healed!

One of the men who was healed noticed what had happened and came back to praise God. When he got back to Jesus, he bowed down in front of him and said thank you. Jesus asked where all the others were – why had they not come back to say thank you? Jesus told the man to go, his faith had made him well.

Write a thank you prayer to God.

Pray: God, thank you for all you do for us. Amen

Father in heaven watch over our loved ones.
Keep them by your side.
May they be safe and peaceful, in you may they abide.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses too we pray,
renew their strength and bless them for the work they do each day. Send healing and restoration and let them feel your love.
May your Holy Spirit give them rest as gentle as a dove. Amen (Taken from Praying Together)
