Sunday 21st November – The Kingship of Christ Read: John 18:33-37
Jesus truly was a King, and today in Church is a special day as we celebrate the Kingship of Christ – we are celebrating that Jesus was a King, who came to earth for us, and died for our sins. In our reading Jesus is being questioned by Pilate. Pilate asks Jesus ‘Are you the King of the Jews?’ Jesus does not give a simple yes or no answer but instead explains to Pilate that his Kingdom is currently of another place, meaning the Kingdom of God, but that he came to earth is to tell the people the truth about God. Jesus is the true King and today we celebrate that.
