The Greatest Commandment Read: Mark 12:28-34
The teachers of the law liked to hear what Jesus had to say – sometimes they wanted to catch him out but other times they knew he was wise, and they could learn from him. Jesus was asked which is the most important commandment. Jesus replied that we should love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and that we should love our neighbour as we love ourselves. The man who asked Jesus was so impressed by this answer that he could not argue with him and actually said they were more important than burnt offerings and sacrifices. The others who heard this conversation were so impressed they didn’t ask Jesus any more questions.

What is the most important commandment? What is the second greatest commandment?
How can we live these in our lives?

Question Time – we all have questions we would like to ask God –
make a list of some questions you have for God, or questions you would have liked to ask Jesus if you were alive when he was living on earth. There may not be answers to your questions, but it is good to think about them.
Pray: Help us live out your commandments. Amen.
Father in heaven watch over our loved ones.
Keep them by your side.
May they be safe and peaceful, in you may they abide.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses too we pray,
renew their strength and bless them for the work they do each day. Send healing and restoration and let them feel your love.
May your Holy Spirit give them rest as gentle as a dove. Amen (taken from Praying Together)
