Sunday 18th September 2022 – The Dishonest Manager Read: Luke 16:1-13
Today’s story is another parable, but this time Jesus is teaching his disciples. Jesus wants the disciples to understand that they cannot be distracted by trying to be rich, or by telling lies and getting caught up in everything that is happening around them the disciples must set a good example – they should be honest and not tell lies. Jesus wants them to focus on what is good and right and not set a bad example for others.

Who was Jesus telling this parable to? Why did the pharisees not want to hear it? Why does Jesus expect so much of his disciples? What should the disciples be focused on? What should we do with our money?

Pray: God, help me to do what is right by you. Amen
Father in heaven watch over our loved ones.
Keep them by your side.
May they be safe and peaceful, in you may they abide.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses too we pray,
renew their strength and bless them for the work they do each day. Send healing and restoration and let them feel your love.
May your Holy Spirit give them rest as gentle as a dove. Amen (Taken from Praying Together)
