Read: Mark 4:35-41
Jesus asked his disciples to go over to the other side of the lake, so they left the crowd behind and they got in a boat and headed off. As they were sailing a storm came up and waves crashed over the boat and it was about to sink. Jesus was in the back of the boat and was sleeping. The disciples were terrified but Jesus slept! The disciples woke Jesus up and asked ‘Don’t you care if we drown?’ Jesus got up and ordered the wind to stop and told the wind to to be quiet. Everything stopped – all was completely calm. Jesus then asked his disciples why there were afraid and did they not have any faith? The disciples were terrified and asked who this was – even the wind and waves obey him! The disciples were able to see the true power of Jesus.

What had Jesus been doing that day? Where were they sailing? What happened when Jesus was sleeping? What did the disciples do? How did Jesus calm the storm? What does this teach us about Jesus?

Pray: The disciples were able to see the power of God – let us see your power in our lives. Amen.
Father in heaven watch over our loved ones.
Keep them by your side.
May they be safe and peaceful, in you may they abide.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses too we pray,
renew their strength and bless them for the work they do each day. Send healing and restoration and let them feel your love.
