Read: Mark 8:31-38
Jesus knew what was going to happen – he knew God’s plan and wanted the disciples to be prepared. He told them that he would have to suffer, that the high priests would not accept him, and that he must die and after three days rise again. I am sure the disciples were worried and confused by all of this. Peter spoke up – he took Jesus to one side and began to scold him. Jesus was annoyed because Peter was only thinking about how he and the other disciples may have been feeling – he was not thinking about God’s plan and what needed to be done. Jesus went on to say that being his disciple would not be easy – would they be up for the challenge?
Watch:
Who was Jesus talking to? What was he telling them? Why did Peter scold Jesus? What was Jesus response? How would have felt if you had seen this happening?
