Again many Thanks to Kirsty for preparing this.
Read: Mark 1:9-15
The baptism of Jesus marks the start of his earthly ministry. He was 30 years old. After he had been baptised the Holy Spirit came down and a voice from heaven said ‘You are my son, and I love you. I am very pleased with you.’ Jesus is affirmed by what is said to him – he is reminded he is God’s son and that he is loved. After Jesus had been baptised, he was sent to the desert for 40 days. He was tempted by the devil – but Jesus resisted temptation – he said no! Angels cared for Jesus and made
sure nothing happened to him.

Pray:
God, Jesus was able to resist temptation – help us to do the same. Amen
Father in heaven watch over our loved ones.
Keep them by your side.
May they be safe and peaceful, in you may they abide.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses too we pray,
renew their strength and bless them for the work they do each day.
Send healing and restoration and let them feel your love.
May your Holy Spirit give them rest as gentle as a dove. Amen (taken from Praying Together)

Jesus was able to resist temptation and used the Bible to help him. With the help of a grown up look up some verses which might help you if you are tempted to do something wrong. Write these verses out and display them where you can see them.
